What Churches Can I Visit in Benidorm?

The city of Benidorm has several beautiful churches which hold services throughout the week. Below we look at a few of the churches that you can visit when you travel to Benidorm.

Parroquia del Buen Pastor

Parroquia del Buen Pastor is a church that can be a little hard to find and sits nestled in the heart of the city. The church is decorative inside, comfortable and the people are very welcoming. Normal worship is on Thursday from 6:30 pm as well as mass from 7:30 pm. There are summer and winter hours depending on which season you visit.

Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Almudena

The Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de la Almudena is located on Calle Escoriaza y Fabro 72, in the Delicias neighbourhood. This parish was built in 1964 to serve and evangelize in the neighbourhood that was growing at a very fast pace. It stands out among the buildings for its modernity and its symbolic depth. The structure of the church is in the form of a boat, the boat of the Church that is led through history by the Holy Spirit.

Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Mar

Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Mar is a modern and very well-maintained church which is tucked away, and unless you have directions, it can be hard to find. Sunday mass is prevalent and can be full, so you will need to get there early if you are planning to attend the service. The church has a lot of natural light which adds to its appeal.

Parroquia de San Jaime y Santa Ana

Parroquia de San Jaime y Santa Ana is a Catholic church from the 1700s and is situated right on the edge of Benidorm’s coastline. The church is the oldest in Benidorm and is a popular place of worship with both locals and tourists. The views from the top are breath-taking and stretch out to sea as well as out over the Old Town.

Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís

The current Parish founded in 1821, occupies the Church of the old convent of San Francisco, one of the first to be founded in the city. The church was built by the Sevillian Pedro Llerena in 1518, although it was damaged during an attack on the city by the Dutch Van der Does.
