Benidorm has a lot to see and do but if you are not visiting in the summer months then you may experience a little rain or cold weather which may stop you from doing activities outside. But there is still plenty to do for young and old and below are seven things to do when it’s cold and wet in Benidorm.
1. Going shopping
If you’ve never taken a walk-through downtown Benidorm especially the old town you will find a huge array of shops stocking everything from clothes to jewellery as well as craft shops. If you don’t fancy shopping and instead want somewhere to sit and relax for a few hours then there is no better place than the famous Zona de Los Vascos where you can sample a good pintxo and a glass of wine.
Bingo is some people’s favourite pastime and if the weather isn’t playing ball then it’s a great way to kill a few hours. The most popular Bingo Plaza is situated in the old town on the Plaza Hispanidad, known locally as The Triangle. Of course, it has the same rules as a casino, and you must be over the age of 18 to play and you will need a photographic ID to prove this.
3. Watching a movie
Watching a film on a rainy day is a sure-fire way to keep yourself and the kids entertained. Benidorm has three cinemas which are situated in La Marina shopping centre and are the IMF cinemas and the Colci cinema, both in the centre and the Rincón de Loix – so grab some popcorn, sit back and enjoy!
4. Going Bowling
Bowling is another great way to pass the time if it’s raining outside and again it will keep all the family entertained, especially the kids. There are a couple of options, the Ozone bowling alley which is in the centre of Benidorm or the Bowling Paradise that is located in the La Marina mall.
5. Visiting museums
Another activity to do in Benidorm when it’s raining is head to the museum which if it piques your interest is a great way to learn more about the city’s history. The Boca del Calvari Museum in the central part of the city is the perfect place to visit and has regular exhibitions that will allow you to learn more about Benidorm’s cultures and traditions.
6. Benidorm Circus
The Benidorm Circus will offer something for the whole family and features stunning light and sound shows as well as acrobats, magicians, trapeze artists and of course funny clowns. The circus is animal-free, and you will be surprised at just how good it is – we can’t think of a better activity to do when it rains in Benidorm.
7. Escape Room
Escape Rooms have become all the rage in recent years and testing your mental and physical skills is a great way to avoid and Benidorm downpour. You will need to work as a team to solve the clues and get out in time so head over to the Lockdown Escape Room which has up to three rooms with different challenges and atmospheres to experience.
